What do you need?

Business presentations

Whether it is a new product launch to prospective customers, a keynote speech for a conference or an internal meeting, we can develop the perfect speech for you.  Let us know the basics and we will arrange an interview at a convenient time for you.  Phone (+44) 7537 182 070.  Information that we will need is:

  • What is the event is about?
  • Who is attending (internal or external, what will they want to hear, how large is the audience?)
  • What level of understanding are the audience likely to have of your key topics?
  • What you want to get out of your speech (top 3 points)?
  • What would you like the audience to get from your speech (top 3 points)?
  • How long are you speaking for?
  • Will there be questions, and what percentage of the time should be spent on them?
  • What challenges might you face?
  • Are there any quick wins?
  • What tone and approach would you like to take?
  • Will the audience be 'warm' to your ideas or looking for faults?
  • When is the event?
  • What is your level of confidence for pulling this off - why could this fail, and why will this succeed!
  • Will I need to interview other people for information, or where can I find out more?

Weddings

A totally different approach - and much more personal.  In most cases the audience are actually looking forward to hearing from you, and are highly likely to consist of well loved family and friends. This also presents unique challenges because you have an obligation to make the event fun, uplifting, memorable, funny and non-offensive!  Remember, although some would like risque stories of the groom or bride's previous romantic encounters, parents, elderly aunts and even grandparents are likely to be present too and they may be less amused!  Getting the balance right is the key here...by all means get close to the mark, but never cross it.

Clearly the tone and approach will be different for each type of event. and for you as an individual.  There are several types of speeches.

  • Persuasive - where a message, idea or concept needs to be conveyed.
  • Informative - where imparting information is the primary aim.
  • Demonstrative - where teaching and showing is the goal.
  • Entertaining - where celebration, thanks or congratulations are  the objective.
